Daveante Jones wins NELC Rising Star Award

At the National Employment Law Council’s 29th Annual meeting in Chicago, this former Lambda Kappa Chapter Polemarch received the Rising Star Award. Needless to say, we are very proud as he continues to achieve!

Daveante Jones (Lambda Kappa Spring 2k11) has been a top scholar from a young age. We at Lambda Kappa were able to see his high level of achievement up close and personal. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and Government from Southern Arkansas University, graduating cum laude in 2012. And he earned his Juris Doctorate from the University of Arkansas School of Law, graduating cum laude in 2016.

The NELC defines the criteria for the Rising Star Award this way:

The Rising Star Award recognizes the management side labor & employment law practitioners of color with less than 10 years of experience who have evidenced skills and aptitude for excellence both in the legal profession and in the community, as well as a demonstrated commitment to NELC.

More about Daveante

Daveante helps employers navigate day-to-day issues related to hiring, discipline and termination, employee pay, leaves and accommodations, cultivating an inclusive workplace, and conducting employee and management training. Support provided by Daveante also includes handling all aspects of litigation, assisting with internal and state/federal agency investigations, drafting workplace policies and employment agreements, and writing and speaking on the latest legal trends ranging from the ADA and FMLA to wage and hour issues to trade secrets to surveillance in the workplace.
